Best known as the singer of The Ferrets, BILLY MILLER had a hit with number one single ‘Don’t Fall In Love’ from the gold album ‘Dreams of A Love’. ‘The Great Blokes’ (‘Perpetual Motion’), ‘The Spaniards’ (‘God Is A Shield’) and ‘The Gypsys’ (‘Women In The Kitchen’) followed The Ferrets. Then throughout the 1990s, Billy helped create many of the biggest TV commercials, working with a company called Duffield/Kenihan (Andrew Duffield – The Models). McDonalds, Cadbury, Ford, Sony, Telstra and many other brands featured Billy performing, editing or composing on their ads.
The past ten years has seen the emergence of Billy’s latest line up THE LOVE BROTHERS, comprising of Billy on guitar and vocals, his son Eddie Miller on guitars and vocals and the legendary rhythm section made up of of drummer John Annos and bassist Bill McDonald.
For this show, you can expect to hear all the great Australian hits from the 60s and 70s plus a selection of Billy’s own catalogue. This is a rare opportunity to catch Billy and his Love Brothers at a gig the general public can access as 1970s popstars in their 66th year generally play functions, benefits and nostalgia concerts. AND the best thing is there’s no broken glass on the Memo dance floor – unlike 99% of the St.Kilda foreshore!
“Miller is one of those guys who knows every pop song ever written — and can play it” – Paul Kelly
