This is a show that celebrates female singers who despite the odds, became legends in music. Women who came from poverty and hard times, endured violence and racism, yet still became unforgettable influential stars on stage. Tracey Miller and her stellar band will be narrating and performing songs by Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Dinah Washington, Koko Taylor, Billie Holiday, Big Mama Thornton and Gospel Legend, Sister Rosetta Tharpe…..Think New Orleans Jazz spiced with Chicago Blues with the added bonus of a backstory to go with the music.
Tracey is a well known singer/ songwriter who has been singing Gospel Jazz and Blues since she was 15 years old and is no stranger to singing songs with grit and salt. Music runs in Tracey’s blood and so does the passion she has for supporting women in music, which is clearly shown in her powerful delivery of the songs she sings.
The band line up for this show is fabulous, check it out……. Louis King on Guitar, Gideon Preiss on Piano, Lyn Wallace on Drums, Jules Pascoe on Double Bass and Darcy McNulty on Sax. PLUS special guest singer Loretta Miller will be joining her mum on stage too which will make the show extra special.
A MUST SEE EXPERIENCE!
