Born from a deep love of Jones’ early recordings, this 9-piece Melbourne ensemble brings her timeless music to life with warmth, precision and respect.
The set draws on a handpicked selection of songs from Jones’ Grammy-nominated self-titled debut—including the jazz-pop classic Chuck E’s in Love—along with highlights from Pirates, The Magazine and Flying Cowboys. Together, these four landmark albums reveal the remarkable depth, originality and genre-defying artistry that have made Rickie Lee Jones one of contemporary music’s most distinctive voices.
With beautifully crafted arrangements rarely heard live, Flying Cowboys performs the songs with the affection and energy of true fans.
The band features some of Melbourne’s finest musicians, with credits including Kate Ceberano, Tina Arena, John Farnham, Renee Geyer, The Black Sorrows, Vika and Linda Bull, and Olivia Newton-John.
