feat. MADDER LAKE, SPECTRUM & PHIL MANNING

Featuring the Cream of Australian Artists. Sunbury was touted as The Rock Happening Of It’s Time. Madder Lake opened the inaugural 72 Festival, to a rapturous response. They went on to support The Rolling Stones on their infamous Australian tour of 1973. They were also the First Act to be signed to Mushroom Records and delivered the label its First Gold Record, with their STILLPOINT ALBUM.

Next up was Mike Rudd’s: SPECTRUM, arguably Australia’s most popular Progressive Rock Act. Spectrum’s Number One National Hit: I’LL BE GONE had already become an Anthem with the Australian public and has been covered by artists such as John Williamson, Lost Ragas and Manfred Mann,s Earth Band. Mike was later to record at Abbey Road Studios with his new incarnation Ariel, who returned from the U.K. to perform at the very last Sunbury event.

And finally we have the guitar maestro PHIL MANNING,well known founding member of Australia’s best Blues\Rock band: CHAIN. Phil also has his solo career releasing some critically acclaimed albums. A major session player for some of Australia’s leading artists and a regular featured guitar player at Music Expo’s.

So come, re-live, celebrate the nostalgia and great music with these three acts, that still remain today; and who were part of the so called Golden Era Of Australian Music.
