“The weather is a little cool on the farm this time of year, so we’re bringing the event to the city and the indoor warmth at MEMO St.Kilda”, said farm director Danielle Press. “In turn we hope this will expose the farm and its residents to a whole new audience”, she added.
Loki’s Lodge is funded completely by donation and merchandise sales, so attendees can be assured their ticket price is going to a good cause. However the performers will also be paid going rates.
“While the proceeds of the concert will be greatly welcomed at the farm, we also recognise the hardship both musicians and venues have endured during the pandemic, so we wanted to create an earning opportunity for them as well”, Danielle said.
But tix wont last so book now! Why not get a party together to enjoy the day?
Why Pig Day Out?
Loki’s Lodge is named after one of our very first – and still current, rescue residents, Loki the pig. Seem appropriate that he should be the star of the show!
What’s Loki’s Lodge and what does it do?
Loki’s Lodge is a registered not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the welfare of animals. Our particular focus is on finding homes for rural animals that are surrendered due to changed life circumstances. Increasingly people are moving off the land, back to smaller properties, towns and retirement villages and this means their special animals must find new homes. We take them in, assess them and find new homes with loving owners who will continue their care.
We are located on an 80 acre property one and a half hours north of Melbourne. We use Loki’s Lodge to educate the public on the plight of farmed animals. There is a societal disconnect between the abolition of animal cruelty on the one hand and the preparedness to ignore the plight of factory farmed animals we use as a food source on the other. We believe that providing experiential education raises the awareness of animal suffering and cruelty within the animal agricultural industry. Knowledge is the power to change the way our society views the welfare of farmed animals.
We are a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) entity. This means any donations are tax deductible in Australia.
